Kristin and Patrick’s beautiful seaside wedding was an elegant affair. The wedding was held on the beach at Sea Pines Resort on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The small guest list consisted exclusively of family and close friends, creating a very intimate atmosphere. One of the best parts for us was getting to know Kristin and Patrick’s families! They shuttled us to and from the airport and gave us rides around the island on our quest to find perfect photo locations. We were treated with incredible hospitality and given unrestricted access to document the intimate moments of the day (there were lots of happy tears). We are so grateful for being entrusted with the task of documenting this fantastic day and are excited to share a few of our favorite images from the wedding:
Dear Brides-to-be,Check out our Wedding Wire Page! We just set it up as a place for past brides to post reviews of their experiences. We encourage you to check out what our past brides have to say about us and welcome you to contact us with any questions regarding our wedding services. We still have some 2011 dates available and would love to hear from you! Also, we just posted a brand new Featured Wedding Gallery on our website showcasing Jill and John’s fairytale wedding! We’ve been having a BLAST photographing 2010 weddings (and we’ll be blogging ALL of them in the near future), but this gallery gives you a peek at what a full day’s wedding coverage from McClanahan Studio looks like.
We recently partnered with Bella Salon and Spa and collaborated on a sweet photo shoot to showcase their mad hairstyling skills. We spent an afternoon shooting wedding and prom hairstyles in our signature style at Stacey’s Prom in Urbandale. Stacey’s was kind enough to lend us their dresses and jewelry and let us shoot in their store. All the models from the shoot are regular patrons at Bella, so this was a genuine 100% local production. Alex designed an incredible album showcasing the collaboration that will be on display at both Bella locations (Valley West Mall and Johnston), and there will be an album at Stacey’s as well. If you’re looking for a hairstylist, stop by Bella and check it out! We had a blast shooting with the Bella staff and recommend them highly! Here are a few of our favorite images from the shoot:
On Saturday we hosted a Ballroom Dance lesson in our studio for our 2010 wedding couples with 3 ideas in mind:1) To get to know the couples better 2) For the couples to get to know other engaged couples from the area and have fun exchanging wedding ideas 3) Because we think everybody should have some sweet moves for their first dance!
The lesson was taught by Jaclyn Hansel and Ryan Damman from Cyclone Ballroom. They taught the Waltz (great for a first dance) and Salsa (great for the rest of the night) and everybody in attendance caught on quickly! I’m excited to see them regurgitate some of what they’ve learned on the dance floor at their weddings! Make sure you check out Cyclone Ballroom’s Web Site and Facebook! They do a lot of teaching locally and we give them a glowing review for their performance on Saturday. Very excellent teachers and very fun people! Here are a few snaps from the event:
