Megan & Kyle's wedding took place on a crisp autumn day in Atlantic, IA. We can't remember a moment when Megan didn't have a smile on her face and it was such a joy to document her relationship with Kyle! We loved Megan's peacock feather theme and the bright touches of teal and purple carried throughout the garments and decor. Their ceremony took place at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with reception following at the Cass County Memorial Building. Megan & Kyle's engagement session was also quite memorable and you can see highlights from it here. Please enjoy a few of our favorite moments from the day:
Alicia and Ben's knot-tying commenced on a beautiful day in downtown Des Moines, IA. Their evening ceremony was held at the historic Saint Ambrose Cathedral with reception following at The Scottish Rite (one of our favorite venues! currently featured on our web site). We photographed most of our portraits on the streets of Des Moines in-between the two venues (which are walking distance from one another). Alicia and Ben's mutual excitement was infectious and was a joy to behold! Ben's constant affection towards his bride and Alicia's ceaseless smile are definitely indicators that they've got something extraordinary going on. Alicia's little sister was a huge part of the day, helping out in any way she could, and is a clear case of 10 going on 30. Her lack of camera shyness also made her a blast to photograph (see below). Please enjoy a few of our favorite images from their wedding, and if you just can't get enough Alicia & Ben you can see a few of their engagement photos here.
Emily and Mike's wedding unfolded on a beautiful Saturday in Minneapolis. Emily has an incredible eye for detail and filled the day with personal touches: everything from homemade wooden signs to a handkerchief made from both her grandmothers wedding dresses. Autumn vintage style emanated out of everything from flowers to reception venue and added immense charm to the experience. Emily and Mike's ceremony was at St. Peter's Catholic Church, where Emily attended school, and their reception was held at the fantastic Nicollet Island Pavilion. The pair was a blast to photograph because they have great senses of humor and chemistry. We captured a number of stellar portraits on the banks of the Mississippi between the ceremony and reception. We also need to give a shout out to the super cool wedding party (their lovely blurs featured below)! The dance floor was HOPPIN with energy and guests were given a show when Mike was iced by Emily as he went for her garter during the garter toss (it was epic)! At 10pm a gelato cart appeared next to the dance floor and guests were treated with Emily's favorite snack from her semester in Italy. We snuck out back with the couple for one last skyline portrait (below) at the end of the night.
Julie & Nick's afternoon ceremony was at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge, IA. Downtown Fort Dodge provided some awesome urban locations for pre-ceremony portraits of the couple and wedding party. Julie got pink boas for her bridesmaids, which was very fitting (they were a fun bunch of girls to hang with). Julie also had her insanely cute nieces and nephews (3 of each) as flower girls and ring bearers. They provided entertainment and comic relief throughout the day. Julie & Nick took a limo ride to their evening reception at the Fort Dodge Country Club. The reception tables took up two entire rooms with the main festivities happening on one side of the club and a projector playing them in real-time on the other side. We're thankful we got to be a part of this day and wish Julie and Nick much happiness in their future!
